How to Obtain a Domicile Certificate: Sikkim 

Eligibility

In Sikkim, the DomicileCcertificate is called the Certificate of Identification. Persons eligible to get the Domicile Certificate are:

• Any person whose father/ husband/ paternal grandfather/ brother from the same father possesses SSC;
• Any person whose father/ husband or he/she himself/herself has landed property in rural areas of Sikkim either in the Old Land records of 1952-54 or the new ones of 1977-79;
• Any person whose father/ husband or he/she himself/herself was in regular Government service of Sikkim on or before 31st December 1969 and any person whose father possesses a Citizenship Certificate.

Concerned Authority

All District Collectors Offices in Sikkim are the concerned authorities providing the certificate. One has to collect the form for COI Certificate from the respective single window counter and the filled form has to be submitted there.

The following attested/ certified documents are to be submitted by the applicant:

• Attested Copies of Sikkim Subject Certificate/ Parcha of Land/ Service Appointment Order/ Citizenship Certificate.
• Panchayat verification report included in the form.
• School Certificate/ Birth Certificate or Voter Card.
• Area MLA recommendation for urban areas.
• Two passport sized photographs of the applicant.
• One passport sized photograph of the guardian.

Note:

After submitting the duly filled in form to the District Collectorate, photostat copies of the form are sent to the Intelligence Bureau and to the Superintendent of Police of the Concerned District for verification. After the verification process is over and if the matter is genuine, the certificate is awarded by the District Collectorate.

Tadong branch of Lions Club presented charter certificate

RANGPO, 01 Feb: Charter certificate presentation programme for Lions Club of Tadong was held at a local hotel in Gangtok today. Chief guest of the programme, district governor Lions Club International 322f, Binod Kumar Agarwal handed over the charter certificate to the Tadong Lions Club president, Purusotam Agarwal duly signed by the Club’s international president, Dr Wing Kung Tam.
Secretary of the Club, Santosh Kumar Singh addressing the programme highlighted the Club’s activities carried out after the installation of the Club on 25 August last year. The chief guest, Mr Agarwal in his address, appreciated the work done by the Tadong Club and all other three clubs of the state during the 18 Sept earthquake 2011. He informed that twenty three new members have now joined this international club which has 13, 80, 000 members in 750 districts of 46105 areas in 208 countries.
Also present on the occasion were zone chairman H P Kharel, district chairman Sanjay Agarwal, Lions service in Sikkim Pawan Kumar Agarwal, district chairman food bank project Raghubir Agarwal, district chairman GLP, sponsoring club Ranipool president N L Mundra along with members from Lions Club of Rangpo, Lions Club of Ranipool, Singtam and Kalimpong. Laxman Das takes over as new CBDT chairman

New Delhi: Laxman Das took over as the new chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday.     The former chairman of the CBDT, M C Joshi, retired yesterday.     Das, who belongs to the 1974 batch of the Indian Revenue Services (IRS), was earlier serving as CBDT Member (Revenue), CBDT spokesperson Anuja Sarangi told PTI.     A Master of Physics, Das was also Chief Commissioner of the Income Tax Department in Delhi.
