Sikkim: Sanjay Agarwal receives Award in Shillong

Sanjay Agarwal, a correspondent  from Rangpo was  felicitated with Dr Maharaja Krishna Singh Jain Memorial  Award at the three days long Rastriya  Hindi Bikash Sammelan  organized by  Bharatiya  Sanskritik Sambhandh Parisad and Purvottar Hindi Academy at Sillong, the capital of Megalaya, on May 26.
In the presence of  huge delegates, poets, writers, social workers  from 17 states across the country, Pramod Prakash Sriwastav, member of North East Council as the chief guest and  A K Mathur, director of North East Police Academy, Shillong, Prof Amar Singh Badhan, director  of Higher Education and Research  Centre, Chandigarh, Urmi Krishnan, director  of story  writing, University Ambala, Bimal Bajaj, president  and Dr Akela Bhai,  secretary of Purvottar Hindi Academy, Shillong.
The chief guest has presented  traditional shawl, felicitation letter, appreciation  letter and mementoes to Sanjay Agarwal. He has been conferred for working  actively  in the field of publicity for Hindi languages and local languages in Sikkim through media.
Sanjay Agarwal has specially  gave credit for receiving this prestigious  award to Singtam Bhanu Jayanti Samaroha Samiti and Basibiyalo Singtam, fellow lions members, media friends, members of MYM, and   all well-wishers for the felicitation.
In the meantime, DB Chettri,  headmaster of Government Secondary School, Duga was also  felicitated  for participation and  support in the programme .
