Voter Card holders to get benefits in Sikkim

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS BY THE GOVERNMENT

The State Government has taken a major policy decision to grant unemployment allowance to the unemployed youth of the state. Those who have passed Class X and those who are diploma holders and are remaining unemployed would be eligible for the allowance. The amount of the allowance and other criteria is to be declared by the department concerned very soon.

In another major policy decision taken by the State Government, the Voter Card Holders of Sikkim have also been made eligible for getting GCI sheets and subsidized food grains from the government, at par with other beneficiaries. The details about this policy decision would also be brought out by the concerned department.

These decisions were discussed and passed in the Legislature meeting held on 19^thOctober 2013.
