Café Coffee Day on a creative mission
Yamini Reddy holds an interactive session with dance students
Café Coffee Day (CCD) is no longer the place for just some coffee,
cookie and music. City youth learnt about the intricacies of classical dance and
the journey of a noted dancer at the CCD Lounge, here on Thursday.
Launching CCD’s ‘lounge journals’, a series of tête-à-têtes with
celebrity experts on passions and hobbies of the youth, in the city, Kuchipudi
dancer Yamini Reddy conducted an interactive session on classical dance with a
group of dance students here.
Speaking about the classical art, Ms. Reddy revealed several
experiences from being trained by her renowned dancer parents, Raja and Radha
Reddy to authoring a research thesis on performing arts. She also shared her
insights about the dance form of Kuchipudi for classical dance aspirants at The
Lounge. “The lounge journals series has been started to channelise youth energy
into creative and productive expression. We thought that the CCD Lounge is the
apt place for such interactions with the youth,” said K. Ramakrishnan,
president, marketing, Café Coffee Day.
‘The lounge journals’, focusing on topics like photography,
creative writing, painting, animation and sculpting, have been launched in over
30 outlets of The Lounge across the country.
