NOTIFICATION

In supersession of Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department Notification No.102/CT/2009 dated 23rd June, 2009 published in Sikkim Government Gazette Extraordinary No.271 dated 21st July, 2009 the State Government is hereby pleased to constitute a Committee to examine the matter of granting exemption of income tax (Direct Tax Law) under the Income Tax Act, 1961 to the left out individual of the State of Sikkim consisting of the following members, namely: -

1. Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner - Chairman
2. Commissioner-cum-Secretary, LR&DM Dept. - Member
3. Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Commerce/Industries Dept. - Member
4. Secretary, Law Department - Member
5. Controller of Accounts, FRED - Member
6. Special Commissioner (CTD) - Member Secretary
7. Shri Nehru Marda, FCA Gangtok - Member
8. Shri Shankar Agarwal, Namchi - Member
9. Shri Rajesh Lakhotia,Gangtok - Member
2. The terms of reference to the Committee shall be as under, namely: -

(1) The Committee shall examine the matter relating to grant of exemption of income tax to the left out individuals in the State of Sikkim and make recommendations to the Government of Sikkim for taking the issue with the Government of India.

(2) The Committee shall also interact with the Govt. of India in furtherance to the issue in question and apprise the State Government on the progress from time to time.
