Controversy of CM’s alleged disappearance is getting more heated as Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) Party has strongly condemned the statement of BJP state President Padam Chettri. In a statement issued yesterday, Mr. Chettri questioned the absence of Mr. Chamling. Voicing the opinion of his party, Mr. Chettri has alleged that CM is unavailable to the people of Sikkim for more than 15 days. SDF’s response on it came a day later as the party ridiculed Chettri’s statement as baseless, uncivilized and undemocratic.
In a press release issued today, SDF further clarified that Chief Minister Pawan Chamling is in Delhi and has met with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh regarding issues, such as; earthquake relief fund, Limboo-Tamang seat reservation and income tax exemption for old settlers. SDF even questioned the authority of Mr. Chettri and stated that he is unfit for party president’s post.
The release also mentions that BJP’s statement has proved again that they are not serious on other important issues and trying to misguide the people of Sikkim. SDF maintained that Mr. Chamling is working hard to rebuild Sikkim after the earthquake and is busy discussing numerous issues with other Ministers in New Delhi. They also warned BJP to avoid commenting on CM.
